Decipher codes of long-lost relics in this logic-based title
Mystery Boxes is a premium puzzle game that tests one’s ability to recognize patterns and solve codes. Made by Rogue Robin Studios for PC, this brain-teasing title lets players embark on an adventure with Maya Robinson, an explorer who must examine long-lost relics hidden in the deepest parts of the jungle.
Mystery Boxes features vibrant, hand-drawn graphics while also providing a casual yet engaging experience for fans of logic and text-based gameplay—making it an excellent choice for mental stimulation. It also incorporates simulation and strategy elements, delving into programming, hacking, and cyberpunk themes.
Identify mysterious patterns
Mystery Boxes puts your wit and critical thinking abilities to the test. As an explorer travelling with Maya Robinson, you encounter locked cube-like artifacts in the deep jungle, which you need to send a four-digit number as a signal to unlock. Once you send the signal, the artifact provides a set of numbers that you must decipher to gain possession of it.
For example, if you send 2244 and the artifact sends 8844, it is necessary to identify the sequence and why it comes back as that input. In this case, multiply each number by two, then flip the whole sequence backward. Do not fret, as each box has multiple rules that can make codebreaking across various locations—including a fiery volcano, an abandoned crypt, and a secret ice shrine.
The game features randomly generated puzzles across 20 unique challenges with increasing difficulty levels. If a level becomes too challenging, Maya Robinson is always there to offer assistance and provide helpful suggestions. Though the game's concept is easy to grasp, the steep difficulty curve might frustrate players. Moreover, skipping the tutorial seems to crash the game, making it purely a hindrance.
An exercise in ancient discovery
Mystery Boxes offers a captivating and challenging puzzle experience with vibrant graphics and brain-teasing gameplay. Players can enjoy unraveling the mysteries of ancient artifacts alongside Maya Robinson, testing their pattern recognition and problem-solving skills. While the steep difficulty curve and occasional technical issues may pose challenges, the game’s engaging mechanics and immersive settings make it a solid choice for fans of logic-based adventures and mental stimulation.
